The Unified War Episode II
Rise of an Empire Pt II
As Revenant Squad traveled to Mandalore pilot Char Mylock questioned the necessity as to why the even needed a Mandalorian guide given that their leader, commander Wulfe, is also a Mandalorian. Wulfe explained that he was a Republic Mandalorian. A little over 20 years ago a planet within the Mandalorian Collective that wanted to secede to the Republic. This led to a Civil War within the Collective. However because the rebels wanted to join the Republic then the Republic supported them. In the end the Mandalorian Collective was forced to surrender more than just the one world that tried to leave.
Upon landing the squad was met by a young Jedi Knight clad in beskar armor, Duran Dal. With their Jedi Escort Revenant Squad was granted an audience with representatives of a handful of the clans of Mandalore. After a heated discussion where it was revealed that the Republic Mandalorians were all stripped of their clan names, the representatives reluctantly agreed that something needed to be done about Giger Nohj, a crime boss that was secretly operating out of a base on Mandalore. And they were more than willing to allow a "false Mandalorian" to risk his life before sending any of their own to storm the facility. They would send no aid, and even attempted to forbid the Jedi Duran Dal from participating as well. But Duran asserted that he was a Jedi Knight and not subject to Mandalorian decree.
As they approached Nohj's facility Foal Kellz asked Duran Dal why the clans wanted him to not be involved. Dal revealed that when he was a youngling, the entire Dal clan was killed in a Republic attack on Concordia. Soon after a Jedi came to oversee the reconstruction and discovered Dal's force sensitivity. With no living family to object he was taken in by the order and trained in the ways of the Jedi. But more recently his return to Mandalore as a knight he learned that by Mandalorian tradition he was now the head of clan Dal, a position that comes with authority and privilege.
After finally making it to Nohj's base of operations the crew found it swarming with Nohj's underlings. Wulfe's plan was to hit them hard and fast. Don't give them time to warn the other heads of this growing Insurgency. Everything went according to plan; Char provided air support while the rest of Revenant Squad made their way through the facility. At the same time Dal entered through a secondary entrance. However in the process of raiding the facility they learned it was not a smuggling operation, or at least not entirely. The facility was actually a cover for a mining operation. With Nohj in custody Wulfe began to interogate him. However it became clear that he was resistant to Wulfe's methods. It was then that Dal stepped in. Using a mind trick Dall was able to learn that Nohj had been secretly mining Beskar for the Insurgency. The Insurgency was going to use the metal to create their own armor, one that was far more durable than anything the Republic had access to, and would even stand up to a Jedi's lightsaber. With this information Revenant Squad decided it was time to return to Coruscant with their findings.
