Description Tibet

Wiki[link]

Tibet emerged in the 7th century as an unified empire, but it soon divided into a variety of territories which found
themselves under gradually increasing Chinese influences.

In 1951, following a military conflict, Tibet was incorporated into the newly established People's Republic of China
and the previous government was abolished in 1959.

Today, the PRC governs western and central Tibet as the Tibet Autonomous Region while eastern areas are mostly within Sichuan
and Qinghai provinces.

There are tensions regarding Tibet's political status and the Government-in-Exile functions in India under the name of the
Central Tibetan Administration and under the spiritual guidance of the Dalai Lama, the head of the Tibetan Buddhist religion.

This government was one of the founding members of UNPO and its headquarters are located now in Mcleod Ganj, Dharamsala, India.
