Kirati people are indigenous to mid-hill Himalayas.
Their language belongs to the Tibeto-Burman family and they have a long and intresting history.
These people are also best known as modern Gurkhas.
In 2009m the Kirat autonomous state was declared.
The capital of the new state would be, probably, Khotang.
Its flag is most likely one of the oldest in the world.
