Flag is representation of the "Kachin State"
Fiercely independen Jingpo people are an ethnic group inhabiting Myanmar's Kachin State
and neighboring areas of China and India.
Promised independence by the British for their valiant fight against the Japanese in WWII,
they felt betrayed and still fight for an independent homeland.
Out of many, there are two major nationalistic groups representing the Kachins;
Kachin Independence Organization and newere
Kachin National Organization.
Both have a common objective to bring the indepdence to their lands.
The Kachins are mostly Christian.
Linguistically, they are categorized as Sino-Tibetan, Tibeto-Burman, Kachin-Luic group.
The Kachin joined the Burmese Union in 1947, but since 1962 wage war on the Rangoon Regime.
