In 2000, Russia reasserted its control over Chechnya and installed pro-Moscow regime in Groznyi.
The Chechen Republic is located in the southeastern part of Europe in the Northern Caucasus mountains.

Population: 1.270.000
Capital: Groznyi
The regime of Ramzan Kadyrov takes advantage of Putin's support and made considerable efforts to rebuild the country devastated by two recent wars and still far from stability.
Kadyrov exhibits a strong authoritarian tendencies and acts not always in line with Kremlin's wishes.

Is this the official Chechnya flag? I noticed there are two Chechen flags - there's another one that's green with two white stripes and a red stripe. I'm confused as to which one Russia approves of.
