I had to recreate a football helmet for a local high school, into a vector image/logo.

We chose to leave out a few details to keep the design simple. Some of the face guard didn't translate well, and caused the whole thing to look crowded. The ear guard thing on the opposite (far) side was also removed for much the same reason. Also, on the lower image, we chose not to make an exact line match again on the face guard. Simple was better.

Yes, it's a very boring piece. But it's just a for a high school sport team, nothing to get fancy over. They need it to use in books, stickers, posters, handouts, etc. Really simple vector art (clip-art some might call it). Though, I assure you, it wasn't exactly easy to make; It takes a while to get the dimensions and angles right -even when you're tracing the outlines from a photo-, and then to clean it up and make the colors and lines work can be a tricky task. I had to design with the idea that this might also be used in screen printing, so that meant the colors had to trap out well and be able to separate easily.

It fits exactly to it's purpose, so therefore it is successful, though.
