Nice job on the face. You really captured him. I say that with certainty, because he was my favorite companion too.

My Danse died... and it was because of a glitch. But it made one hell of a story, so I guess I shouldn't be sad about it. He went out killing synths.  :[

what?! that sucks - did you have a previous save to load back to? Sounds just like him though.

Mine had a retarded glitch where in the final battle with the BOS vs Institute Liberty Prime and the BOS were marching towards the CIT ruins and Danse appeared in the street alone with a gatling laser and started mowing them down. The fact he is a companion made him invincible though so even a 50m tall robot throwing nukes at him couldn't kill him lol. Also i had him in the clean black business suit by then so killing with style

lol that's awesome! Though, uh, wall of text warning and spoiler warning coming right up.

The glitch was a result of me assigning him to the Castle while I was rebuilding Liberty Prime. See, I was trying to make the Minutemen and BOS into allies (since I believed in the causes of both). And by total accident, my Danse had taken to wearing my first power armor's Minuteman-painted right arm. He'd become the right hand of the Minutemen. So it seemed like he actually wanted to be a part of my cause, and I was roleplaying really hard... so it just worked.

When it came time to get Prime's nukes, which meant it was time to go retrieve Danse, I was called back to the Castle by an urgent alert from the Minutemen. They needed me to build defenses for a last stand siege against the insitute... but I couldn't stay or I'd fail the Liberty Reprimed mission! So I built the defenses and then grabbed Danse, headed out, and got the nukes. But when I got back to the Prydwyn, Danse was suddenly a traitor to the Brotherhood and they wanted me to kill him. Obviously this was devastating, and I did everything to save him... but he wasn't at the bunker he was supposed to be at. As soon as I got to that bunker, the objective marker for it moved way down south. Then, as I watched, it kept moving. And then it changed from "go to the bunker" to "retrieve Danse's holotags."

I went back one save file, and sure enough Danse kept leaving the bunker to run south and die. So I fast-traveled down there to cut him off, found him out of armor, and... he wouldn't talk to me. So I just watched his back while he fought his way back to the Castle. Our arrival triggered the battle. Raiders with rocket launchers could kill Danse, but Institute synths and coursers couldn't. It was amazing, but at the end of the battle he'd fall over dead with the last words "Ad... victorium.... brother..." And no amount of savescumming would save him. Interestingly enough, he's too heavy for me to move even with max strength in armor, so his corpse remains there forever. Like a monument.

I decided to just let that be my Danse's story, rather than undo 2-3 hours of progress.

Wow, that's amazingly depressing, poor danse. Next playthrough perhaps you can save him
