Haldir, white African lion (Panthera leo krugeri, lev africky - bila forma) from ZOO Bratislava, Slovakia
there are only few white lions, so this one is real rarity! They are not albinos, only freaks of nature, as white tigers. White color is caused by a recessive gene known as chinchilla or color inhibitor... __________

Considering that a Lion's testosterone is determined by how dark his mane is and whoever has the largest amount of it gets the girl....it must suck to be him. lol. Lovely photos!

He could almost be Aslan. Many years ago, I saw white lions (on loan from somewhere else) at the Toronto Zoo. But they were nowhere's near as handsome as this fellow.
