Description Daimler Dingo was a lightweight scout car, used by British Commonwealth and its allies. First introduced in 1940, it had an open top and was only armed with a machine gun. Its main advantage, aside from small silhouette, was speed - 89 km/h. It was much needed if it was detected, as its armour was only 30 mm thick at the most (sides were no thicker than 12 mm). The vehicle was so small that its crew of two had to choose whether to carry radio or a machine gun, because the two wouldn't fit inside at the same time.

Despite that, Dingo proved extremely popular among the troops, and the damaged ones were sometimes recovered, repaired and used by whoever happened to find it. They were also used for some time post-war, although not in front line troops.

Dingos were also used by Polish Armed Forces in the West. This one here bears the markings of a vehicle used by 15th Poznan Uhlan Regiment during the Italian Campaign, and it was recently donated to Poland from the United States; today, on the Uhlan Day in Poznań, it was officialy transfered to the Armoured Warfare Museum.
