Description Constantine V was one of these energic emperors who expanded a little the remnants of the once vast Roman Empire...
Under his rule, the Slav invasions are halted and the Bulgarians fiercely fought... Many expeditions were conducted both by land and sea.
All were not successful but all were the testimony of an intense military activity in the Balkans...
But if you fight harshly on one front... In 749, Perugia in Italia is taken by one of the great foes of Byzantium, the Lombards.
The loss of this city paves the way to a united Lombard kingdom and weakens the Exarchate of Ravenna...
In 751, Ravenna falls... The following year, the Exarchate is no more...
The pope of Rome is left alone to face the adversity...
His only help can now come from the West...
The Franks.

Thanks ! Well, the situation in Cyprus was quite unique ! And we can say that Venice was at least nominally Byzantine until 1000 AD

Looks good! I like how you marked Cyprus! And it's cool to see Venice still a part of the empire.
