Description
Before he was U.S. Agent, before he was a replacement Captain America, before he was a pain in the ass for the West Coast Avengers, he was John Walker, the Super Patriot. But he was always an asshole.
Getting super strength from a evil (literal) power broker named...[[checks notes]]...um, The Power Broker (really on the nose there), John was now indebted to his benefactor. Becoming the corporately sponsored hero Super Patriot, he, along with 3 other men with powers called the Bold Urban Commandos (Buckies) as the Washington Generals to his Harlem Globetrotters, was sent out on staged battles to show up Captain America.
Getting public acclaim for stopping a terrorist in Washington D.C., he was first in line to replace Steve Rogers as Captain America when the government took back his costume, shield and codename.
Little did he know the Red Skull was secretly behind all of this.
