I love running beside horses... it's among one of the best things to do on my "things that make me happy" list, ya know?

Thanks and I won't mind at all.

Lol, it really isn't that bad. The Anatomy just needs some work. Your horse has a bit of doglike anatomy.
Horses are tricky, the horse has to flow with the front half and the second. It can so easy to turn the horses anatomy that seems a bit more dog-like etc.
I would really start to study the structure and anatomy anatomy of the horse.
[link] See?
Your horse, the back leg bends very much like how a dog's would. Horses legs do work differently.
[link]
Also becareful, the hair seems rather flat, horses hair flows with them. [link] See how that hair flows with with the horses moment, you want to make it light and whispy.
As for the dog, the fur isn't too bad actually, you just have to practice, but you seem to have the concept down. But the anatomy is off and he's very stiff.
I'm using this picture because it seems like it could be a good pose and has a bit similar perspective : [link] See how he seems to fly, you want to give that motion effect.
Again study anatomy of dogs, I will give you a few more references:
[link] The Belgian Shepherd. See that fluff? You've got that down pretty well, but you want to make sure he doesn't have any humps or really stiff areas.
But because your character is part Newfoundlander I can see why he is a bit bigger and bulkier [link]
[link] Labrador, but beautiful reference for fur tones
The background, I would suggest finding a good reference picture also and start lightly. Watercolour you have to start light, blend and work with your brush to get those different textures and layers. A nice watercolour book from Borders will help :3
You're art is good though and shows a lot of potential, so keep drawing!

I see, thanks.
Horse hair is my big weakness I guess...I mean it really is.
As for the dog, agreed with the stiff run, but for the body, I just can use the references the owner gave me, because such a mix does not exist (or at least me and her haven't seen it yet). If I change the looking of him, he won't be her OC anymore.
I also guess, it isn't very visible, that they make relatively playful jumps, not straight runs.
Thanks, I will properly change the image anyway, if Ray asks me to.

Btw, something that I am asking me the whole time: Why did you commented anyway. I mean, okay, we watched each other, but that was almost like 2 years ago. And neither did I nor did you commented or faved a work of the other so far?
What about this pic gives you the urge to say something to the pic? Is it that bad? Or that good (I think, that answer falls out XD )? Or is it the fact, that it is traditional and digital?
Answer honestly, please.
Believe me, no answer could really shock me XD;
