In the 80s I remember Lego taking a really big step when they started producing their Space and Castle systems.
Now, just imagine being a kid during this time in Japan.
The department store is their equivalent of the mall here in the USA.
There you see these vending machines with amazing looking capsule toys inside.
There are several to choose from, but one really catches your eye and more importantly captures your imagination.

It's the one that says Galaxy Reapers.
You immediately understand that this vending machine sells these really cool heads for your Lego mini-figures.
Just by looking at the header art you get that these things are eternally locked in a galactic battle of good versus evil!

You don't have any Lego figures like this, heck you've never even seen any action figures ever like this!
You have to get some, gotta see if they really fit on your Lego figures.
Watch your Lego figures transform into Galaxy Reapers, now that would be satisfying.
Who knows what exactly Galaxy Reapers are, but they don't look like they take crap from anyone, they look like galactic warlords that go around conquering and destroying entire planets as they please.

So the one called Wampire has a special gimmick where you pop it off the body, turn it around, and it flies away as a vampire bat.
Deathstalker has a similar gimmick that when it's also removed from the body turns into something.
This one becomes a deadly looking scorpion death tank!

Imagine building vehicles and fortresses for these guys!
This is exactly the kind of toy I would have treasured as a kid and I would have had hours and hours of fun with these things.
