You apparently went further with trigonometry than I ever dreamed...

LOL... Trigonometry makes my world go round.
A bit like cos(x)^2 + sin(y)^2 = 1
That's some maths geek humour for ya there.

Me 'at's off to you, milord: Reading that equation just a) took me back 20 years to my last trig class, and b) gave me a shock as I realized I've completely forgotten how do do any trig formulae.

It looks like the wave pool at Wet & Wild has frozen over I love this effect...I love your POV-Rays!

It's true! I was thinking of frozen waves. A bit lumpy, though.
I'm enjoying the idea of writing a program to arrange the blocks or spheres or whatever according to some mathematical formula and then using POV to render them. I'm waiting for a killer idea... these images are all prodding at the concept.

Sounds great, and right up your alley I looked at POV-Ray once and went, "Huh??" lol I don't even begin to understand that one! But you're one of the few who is able to think with both sides of your brain

There must be easier to use programs than POV Ray - but this one is FREE!

lol Free is good, when one can figure it out! I only had one or two tries at it, maybe I should look at it again, hey?

You know who you can ask anything about it

Thanks Andrew, I might take you up on that

ItΒ΄s incredible!

How you render ice blocks?

Thanks

The ice blocks are just boxes which are slightly transparent and have a slightly wavy surface. They look... cool

Would You give me the scrip that you used on it?

WiseWanderer In reply to Pantoja [2009-12-01 11:04:58 +0000 UTC]

The script is here: [link]
The include .inc file was generated by a separate program I wrote to place the columns and set their height.
