I have one on my watch list, but at the time he either wasn't an inflatist or I didn't look through his gallery well enough. . . .

This is perfect, you don't even know. I'm friends with a few FA artists (fat appreciation) and it seems that, every once in awhile, they fall into the trap of drawing a series showing a girl getting fatter and fatter or her stomach plumping up like a baloon. I like most fat appreciation art (since I'm fat) but the infaltion stuff seems to show a bit of the violent side I think the artists have. Seeing a girl helpless about what is happening to her body or crying for help or looking confused and disturbed because her stomach is inflating like a balloon definately is not what I call "fat appreciation", more like "fat abuse". So because of my LENGHTY backstory of Ideals I love this drawing, because they need to have fun poked at them... at least a little.

Fear not, for I am not one myself. They're friendly if you either leave em be or if you're not of the Flamer race. How do I know? Guess: I'm checking over lots of 'em by the day, and when a Flamer arrives for battle, the whole pack gathers to combat the Flames. But, either just drop by and if you don't like their idea don't say so, and maybe drop a token of acceptance by them and they'll consider you friendly. If you insult or deny their likes in anyway, you're screwed, and I know you'd never do that.

But cool pic anyway... thought not all "inflatists" are that skinny... I can attest for myself...

I never found these people to be very bad... I actually have a good friend who I know outside of the internet who used to be an inflatist. He was really talented and I found his inflatist drawings were very artistic and interesting. Very refreshing from the usual skinny people. But he stopped drawing them due to a lot of people flaming him about it and complaining that his drawings were very ugly because of all the flab, and now he's afraid to post anything original in dA. Even the more normal stuff that he draws doesn't get put up.
I find some inflatist pieces are tasteless, but there are a lot of good ones around too. Too bad dA isn't a very friendly place for them.

I agree - I would never suggest that people don't post because others don't like their work!
The great thing about dA is that it is big enough that you are bound to find somebody who likes your work
