I attempted this when someone asked me to come up with a dragon-themed image for the Year of the Dragon, and I came up with this while revisiting my grandparents' home in Connecticut - a '50s Modern glass-walled house that followed the aesthetic of blending in with the landscape without dominating it. I loved that house. To me it was like a fairy tale cottage with a modern redesign.

I hoped with this picture that the fantasy element and the house would blend together if I gave them both as much care. I don't think I succeeded that well - the dragon dominates the picture no matter how carefully I tried to recreate the house. Although I am pleased with how I made the wings and crest look like brush and scrub.
