Adventure 2. Stars are born. Far out in the cosmos a cloud of hydrogen has given birth to a cluster of highly energetic new stars, at top left. These stars are irradiating their parent hydrogen cloud, top centre, to give the characteristic pink-purple glow of irradiated hydrogen.This is a high-magnification photograph of the Orchid 'Phalaenopsis', taken hand-held in natural light without manipulation.
