Description Faeries! Featuring Fae of the Winter Court (and one Wyldfae). Left to right: Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness and Queen of the Winter Court; The Erlking, mightiest of the Wyldfae, Master of the Wild Hunt, and Lord of the Goblins; Maeve, the Winter Lady and daughter of Mab; and Kringle, an old and powerful lord of the Winter Court, known to mortalkind by another name. Will be doing another set featuring the Summer Court. I'll be doing that next or the Senior Council, depends on which I'll feel like doing first.

Cool. Mab and badass faerie Santa Kringle are my favorites. The Erlking is Summer King, but then only works when war is coming, and you mentioned that he is wyldfae. I think you could do great job with Mothers Summer and Winter.

It actually makes sense.Β  The modern Santa Claus is a combination of a number of historical and mythological figures, one of whom is indeed Odin.Β  It's like how the Hogfather in the Discworld books used to be a god of winter sacrifice, but changed with the times.

Not sure, mind you, but I think they say somewhere that the Erlking is King of the Summer Court and Kringle is King of the Winter Court. Keep in mind, they don't reside with their respective queens, but serve as the counterparts to the queens.

... Technically, according to JB, the Erlking has closer ties to Summer than Winter - he was called a bit of cruelty in the middle of Summer, just as Kringle is a bit of kindness in the middle of Winter.

Yeah, I've read that interview, apparently the Erlking is the Summer King (and Kringle is the Winter King), however the Kings are independent of the Queens and Ladies and do not fall under their rule.

Thanks again! Yeah, I've been meaning to do a few more of these (planning on doing Senior Council, Wardens, and Denarians), I just wanted to try doing some other stuff in the meantime. Hopefully, I'll get back on doing the next one soon!

Kiiind of. It's sort of like, Kringle/Erlking are mostly able to do their own thing without having to take orders, but when the chips are down, they still have nominal allegiance to their respective factions, and get called in for favors now and again.

I do love Butcher's take on the Fae, and I love your take on his take on them! Mab looks wonderfully sharp, and Maeve looks like someone I want to punch in the face. And of course there's Kringle...Badass!Faerie!Santa was the best thing about that book, I swear. The Erlking is a little underwhelming, but I think that's because he's so BIG in the books and you can't distill that kind of presence into a picture.

Yeeah, had to really downsize Erl-king for this pic 'cos I wanted to fit both him and his sword. Couldn't really fit a 7-foot goblin in the pic and have the others not look like midgets.

Mab simply stunned me here... What she would like, I guess
And the others.... <3 I'm in love! The Erlking! Kringle! They get way too less attention! But what I have to say... in my personal opinion, Maeves chest is a bit too bulky. And I don't mean her boobs.
But I simply love you for those pictures and I'm really looking forward for more!
