Description
The ties to existance distorted as the darkness set in. Pain, fear, anger, and regret. All things Silent-Breeze had taught himself not to feel welled up inside him, as if they tried to claw thier way out of his mind. Pain. He felt his body reel, thrashing about as his spirit was torn from his body. Fear. He looked down in horror to see his still body on the floor, paw resting on the ancient book. Anger. As he blinked his gaze met the kneeling man. The lost truth had been a lie, a lie set forth by the slave race. Regret. All feeling he had known began to dissolve as he watched everything before him pass. So much left undone. The walls of ice receded slowly backwards, and the two bodies decayed. Moments later a flower had sprouted where the bodies once lay. And Silent-Breeze finally understood.
Silent-Breeze blinked hard as he removed his paw from the ancient book, collapsing to the floor as his broken leg gave way.The Silent Prophet. Everything made sense now. He took the corpse by the throat and began to drag it with him. Order must be restored. In a place such as this, no rebrithcould take place. With a silent prayer to the winds, Silent-Breeze ascended the vertical shaft from which he had fallen from before. The cold of the tunnel now chilled him to the bone, though it did not bother him now. He understood the absolute truth now, and had seen what inconsequentail things he had clung to in life. Life. He felt renewed. For the second time he had felt what it was to die.
Silent-Breeze reached the door to the earth, exhausted from pulling the long dead human with him. He felt a powerful surge of energy escape from the human as the sunlight reached it. Time seemed to stop as the corpse burst into flames. the look of horror on its face became one of relief. A spft thud sounded as the ancient tome landed on the stone walkway. The stone where the book lay became pale, and the skies began to shake with rage. From the hills of sand rose a familiar countanance. "Silent-Breeze, look to the sky, the seasons change whether the spirits are prepared or not", sang the winds. "Stonepaw...", whispered Silent-Breeze, and then all was silent.
