Okay, I started this two days ago, and by the time I finished it (right now...) I went back onto 's page, and the requirements for the creature part of the contest were changed...
long story short, I dunno if my animal has 'crazy' enough markings/colors, but there's nothing I can do about it at this point, so yeah.
Onward with the info:
In English, they call this animal a Basilisk, in Na'vi it's Mune'ftxi', meaning two-tongued. It's a placental, carnivorous, warmblooded species. Unlike most fauna on Pandora, it has thick layers of feathers from the back of its head down to its first to sets of shoulders. The Basilisk has four, golden eyes that give off a yellow glow. It has two tongues; a primary tongue (used for tasting etc.) and a secondary tongue, with lies within a second mouth within the primary tongue. The second mouth functions as a 'straw' the animal uses to suck up nutrients from food--nutrients it was unable to absorb when it ate the food with it's primary mouth. The second mouth has three sets of teeth that lay down flat when both mouths are closed.
Similar to the Ikran, the Basilisk is aggressive and highly dangerous until tamed/bonded to its Na'vi partner. Due to its apparent size and strength, it can easily be ridden on by a Na'vi. Most of the animal's weight is supported onto its 2nd and 3rd pairs of legs; the pair in the front is mainly used for balance and to hold small pieces of food (etc).
It's queue is hidden/protected within the blue feathers on the antennae branching from the back of its head. It's markings an color are very similar to that of the Na'vi people. These features allow the Basilisk to hide within the flora of Pandora, waiting for prey (as it's a predatory animal).
