Overall, your art piece here is extremely impressive and aesthetically pleasing! The use of exaggerated features effectively work to provoke a sense of sadness from your portrait. For instance, the larger eyes glistening, while surrounded by darker tones, really emphasizes the tearfulness of the girl's eyes. The small chin puts more attention to the line of the girl's mouth, which appears to be slightly frowning.Β Additionally, the limited use of pure white, was also a smart move. It successfully provided to the overall solemn and sad emotion expressed by your work. Putting small amounts of white on the eyelashes gives off that the girl has been crying or is tearful. The small lines of white that line the side profile and in the hair and eyebrows dramatize your work as a whole. Another great technique of yours would be the variety of line types,Β used throughout the face and within the hair. By providing both thick and thin, curvy and fairly straight lines and features, your art work is made to be really interesting to look as this very much adds to its overall aesthetic value. Personally, I love the sketchy look you bring through your use of both vague and detailed and chaotic and empty features throughout the whole of your art piece. Your ability to balance these features without throwing off your composition really shows your skill.

To me it looks like she is aching and yearning for something that she can't have. Though her expression is a little sad, there is still hope in it. She is not ready to give up yet!

The use of cold blue colors is a smart move as this picture is probably supposed to be calm. Cold colors invoke calm on the viewer but blue is the color that symbolizes calm so the use of color mix is perfect for the motif.

I really love your use of color palette to create the light and shadow in this piece, the balance of light and dark is visually interesting and the shades blend together in an interesting way -- I personally like the messy style because it's a very controlled sort of messy? The emotions in the eyes are captured really, really well and give the work a particular emotion, which I think is really attractive and easy to become absorbed in.
My personal suggestion would be to improve the proportions of the face, but I'm not sure if this is also intentional due to art style preference. The eyes, nose, lips seem too large for the face and the lack of chin/jawline only exaggerate this, so if it's an intentional exaggeration, then this was executed very effectively, but if not, the proportions seem a little distracting and detract from the overall feeling of balance in the piece. I also think the hairline can be improved so as to make it seem more natural as if the hair is flowing from the head freely as opposed to sort of sitting on top the head.

This painting was made with a limit of 20 minute time, to test myself
I am happy that the messiness has a controlled feel to it and that my colors and contrast came out good.
The out of proportion nose/eyes/lips were intentional indeed
I wanted the face to speak while not bothered to realistic proportions, letting instincts express themselves.
I see what you mean with the hair
