Short story

Vinnie was in a panic as he scratched his ever graying beard, that damn stallion, the very one he had been told to keep a
very close eye on, was gone. One minute the imperial stallion had been grazing lazily in the temporary paddock then the next
it was as if he'd vanished. Vinnie groaned as he paced around the fence, looking for any trace of the horse. The stallion was
a visit to the ranch as a trial period and now it seemed his cost for staying would cost Vinnie his life time job. The old man
whistled and called out hoping for an answer. At last the old man sank against a tree with a defeated sigh. He began thinking
of how he was going to break this to Nicholas when suddenly he heard the soft plodding of hooves on grass coming his way.
He looked up to see a very guilty looking, very muddy stallion, the very same that he had figured a loss. The stallion seemed
to smile innocently at the old man who quickly grabbed a rope from a nearby fence to secure the stallion. "Ye Elegant Mud
Skipper..." the older man sneered as he gently patted the imperial stallions neck. Vinnie's next goal in life, get the stallion
a bath before he's seen in such a state.
