In 2014, my best friend, my dad, and I decided to plan and take a trip down the California coast on Highway 1 to see the sights on a mini-road trip. We started our trip in Monterey and eventually came to the Old Coast Road. I discovered this little off-road adventure online when planning our trip down and because my dad had recently got his Jeep, this was a perfect opportunity to do some light off-roading. While it was only some 10 miles long, the drive was fun and beautiful as the scenery was constantly changing. And we were also treated to sightings of uncommon native animals like this quail and his family! He posed for us and allowed me to take one of my favorite photos to date!
