Possibly unpopular opinion incoming. If you can't handle a simple opinion, please leave now. Think before you comment, please.Honest question.
Why is the delicious healthy food (especially seafood and fruit, but vegetables are getting up there too) so prohibitively expensive? Are people of lesser means being told that they're not good enough to try eating healthy foods? Are healthy diets only for the wealthy? If the world made any sense, wouldn't the healthy foods be cheap and easy to access for people of all walks of life, while unhealthy snack/junk foods would be more expensive to buy? It does seem a bit strange, especially since you'd think manufacturing and processing steps for processed foods would add cost, as compared to just harvesting and selling the raw food.
Is the food industry purposely making junk foods and snack foods much cheaper to buy so that they're giving the health industry kickbacks because people are spending more on medical bills stemming from health problems brought on by bad eating habits?
Over-thinking aside, my question still stands. Why must the tasty, healthy raw foods be so expensive?

It mystifies me as well. I always thought that farms that use natural and organic materials straight from nature and not genetically modified would be cheaper than any of that stuff, making the produce cheaper, too? I don't know- I'm not part of the Department of Agriculture here in the states. Oh dear. Well, this is when I'd like to say let's just try the best we can with our food vs. finances! 🤔😥

We are told to eat healthy, and the unhealthy ones are so cheap? My god the world is messed up.

I've been wondering about this all my life. We're encouraged to eat healthy, and others look down upon those who don't, but how the heck can we have healthy diets if the prices of health foods are so high, that we can't afford them?? I don't get people sometimes.

It makes no sense, but it's so obnoxious. It's like a downwards spiral- eat bad food because one can't afford healthy food, get ill from said unhealthy food, spend an arm and a leg on medical bills to solve the problem, have no money left for healthy food, and so on, so forth.
