I've always loved that quote, though I don't know who it's by
I spent a good 5+ hours on this, and I tried really hard to fit the wing. I completely re-did the mane, taking off what was left of the old one and hand drawing in the new one (no brushes used, I don't like using brushes)
I feel like it should have a spirit element mostly because the horse is a fallen angel
This is not stock and I don't take credit for the stock images!

Though it is a FANTASTIC manip, and shows MAJOR improvement on your part, I do have some critique for you that I hope you try.
1) The horse needs to be played with. The color, contrast, shading, smudging, dodging, burning, all that fun stuff desperately. I do like the angle of the horse (Again, GEE, where did THAT idea come from?? lol) It also doesn't fit perfectly with the background... out of proportion and it's too low to the ground, and small compared to the rest of it (if that makes any sense at all you deserve like 10 gold stars xD)
2) The wing is attached beautifully, congratulations, however we cannot see the end of the wing at all, and it throws the whole thing off.Try to brighting in a bit, or maybe get some outline on it artistically. If you look at some other manips, you will see that, just not on mine, as I have had no need to do so yet.
3) The mane is great! Good job!!! Though it's blurred or smudged, and it needs highlights. AB USE THE DARN BRUSHES AND DO NOT BLUR/SMUDGE!!!!!!!
4) The text needs DESPERATE help... note me and send me an email with the psd file, I can only show you.
5) Add an eye on the horsey
