It wasn't long after arriving in Union City for the first time that Toras met his starter, Sootfoot the melan Espurr. While on their way to the Pokemon Lab so Toras could see what starters were available for the month, he was quickly distracted by sounds from a nearby dumpster. Inside was a pitch black little Espurr with gorgeous blue eyes and a prettier voice that was the color of almonds. Toras was never one to dig through the trash, but he knew he had to keep this one. Though Spencer was a little uncertain about it...
