First published drawing of them I think? I feel like I haven't drawn those two in ages, much less in color. And certainly not since their slight redesign.
Most of the shading on the characters was done following the tutorial by alyssahale ... As much as I could with Photoshop anyway, since this software handles clipping and brushes a bit differently. Nevertheless pretty happy with the result and I got to mess around with stuff I don't normally use.

Anyway, here's Zeby and his very creatively (cough cough) named twin, Dark Zeby. Zeby was created around 2013/14 and his twin followed about six months later. Recently redesigned, now having a different shape of wings and small fangs. While they're referred to as "twins" and do call each other "brother", they're less twins and more "two separated parts of a same entity". Think the Lololo & Lalala situation from the Kirby anime if you need to visualize things better. Originally a shapeless, nameless godlike entity (Primitive deity) having power over both body and mind, it went on a rampage and tried to overthrow the balance both for mortals and other deities, which attracted the attention of the Dark Sun who promptly split the entity in two (Zeby having powers over the mind and Dark Zeby over the body) and sealed them away, Zeby in a stone, Dark Zeby in a gaseous state in an alternate dimension, and a good chunk of the entity's power deep down underground. Despite their appearance, they are not directly linked with the Dark Matters.

Zeby has actually gone through quite a bit backstory and personality-wise. His very first version had him be a warrior from another world, trying to protect his planet from some big threat. He had a lot of power but very poor social skills and was wary of everyone.

This version got thrown out the window pretty quickly for his current "set": A childish-looking but calculating, sadistic and powerful fragment of a godlike creature, seeking above all else a way to return to full power and not hesitating to manipulate those he allies with to get what he wants. His behavior is playful and erratic, often humming or dancing while going about his activities, and changing his mind on a whim: He could mercilessly beat you to a pulp before deciding he has better things to do and just leaving. Knowing his immense power, he's also pretty arrogant, often letting his opponents attack him before violently retaliating. He's very expressive, and while most of the time he'll be seen looking happy, feeling the presence of the Dark Sun nearby will send him into a state of panic -- it is pretty much the only thing he's afraid of. His powers include hallucinations, hypnosis and full-on mind control along with some basic attacks. As he becomes more powerful, he also grows more unstable.

He's actually one of few of my characters to have a consistent, defined voice: high-pitched and childlike.

Dark Zeby is much less interesting backstory-wise, just that he started out as Zeby's shadow before graduating to being his twin.

Compared to his brother, he's much calmer and dislikes unnecessary conflicts. He's rather protective of Zeby, and like him wishes to recover his full power and eventually merge back into one being. Emotionally-wise, Dark Zeby's face is about as expressive as a brick: The expression you'll see most often on his face will be a bored look. Even when Zeby decides to annoy him and starts pulling at his face or his wings or something, he won't react and will just wait until his twin gets bored and decides to do something else. Dark Zeby's abilities include altering the bodies of his enemies (the more powerful he gets, the more drastic changes he can make), shapeshifting and body possession, amongst others. As he was sealed as gaseous particles, his consciousness was also shattered, and he won't be able to properly awake and take form as long as all the particles are not together.

His voice is not clearly defined, but is similar to Zeby's, except a little lower-pitched.
