To be fair for the third one, Prime had seen the horrible things Prowl had done when they combined. Morality is non-existent when it comes to ol' Prowl. Oh, and he deserved it. Amazing art by the way.

Is it established in canon that Prowl is actually a sociopath (or worse...psycopath) or no? I'm still trying to determine for myself if that's the case with him.

I don't think it is. But from everything he's done so far in the IDW continuity, he's pretty much a sociopath (or both if that's possible).

I like the TFA Prime has his head screwed on WAY better then this prime. lol

The thing with TFA is is that Prime isn't the leader of the Autobots there. So when I compare Primes I usually leave him out. He /is/ great, no question, but it's such a different setting.

Megatron got out of his execution by calling on an old and antiquated law that states he demands the Knight of Cybertron, the group Rodimus and company are looking for, has to judge him. The Autobots may not like it, but they bow to the rule of law. He's on Rodimus' ship because it's the fastest means of sending him to be judged.
Starscream was hailed as the 'Chosen One' by a Titan, making him a religious figure like the Primes prior. To convince the people that he should rule, he used a complicated plot that involved killing a guy and blaming it on the fighting between the Autobots and the Decepticons. No one knows that he killed that guy, in-universe. Even so, many people don't like him and don't trust him, but so far he's don an alright job in rebuilding cybertron's infrastructure.
Prowl attacked, Cybertron and a colony world, to stop what he sees as Starscream's attempts to build an empire. He took the most extreme action and people were injured and or died. Afterwards he was arrested and he and ticked off Prime with his attitude and lack of morals to the point that he beat him out of the window.

Well said...it's NOT that OP suddenly became a 'sympathizer' for the two top ex-Decepticons...it's just the fact that the criminal circumstances for them and the criminal circumstances for Prowl are drastically DIFFERENT. All is fair in love and war...but Prowl attacked a whole bunch of other beings during a time that is POST war, not during! All to fulfill his own personal agenda. And THAT was such a dick move, on his part.
