Description
I was informed that this ship was called Blackhole and that makes me happy. File is specifically the ship child of the Star and Error from two of my oneshots (the first being here ). These two call each other Aquila and Hyacinth.File has a glitch where either pieces of himself (at the fault of texture issues) or his clothes are altered:
- His sockets look like they have the night sky in them. His eyelights are faint and, in them, '404' can be seen.
- He has white 'freckles'
- His fingertips are white and each phalanges gets darker, with the metacarpels and carpels black like the rest of his body.
- His scarf only has the big dipper on it when he wears it, but has a whole bunch of other constellations when he isn't. It upsets him.
- His scarf also becomes kind of a cloud towards the end with the 'Error: 404 File Not Found' message. the big dipper pattern breaks apart in this area.
- The fluff of his hood is plain old blue when he isn't wearing it.
- His shoes are inversed when worn
- His socks are supposed to be white
- His shirt and pants are supposed to be nearly white (shirt) and lightish gray (sweatpants).
- His glitches should look a lot like Error's, but, instead, mirror his sockets
Other tidbits about him:
- File is nonbinary and goes by they/them and he/him.
- Big dippers can be found all through his design, aside from his scarf. There's usually two to three in his hood floof, and at least one in a socket. Sometimes, his shoes will even have it. It's the reason why his scarf only changes to the big dipper.
- The string on his coat is Error's, and the only thing that hasn't changed in appearance when worn by him.
- While he has no issues with being touched, he can get overwhelmed easily. He'll either crash or seemingly "disappear" when this happens.
- He can teleport like Star, but can't create portals like Error. If he summons strings, they take on the textures/colors/etc that was taken away from his clothes or his body. The same goes for bone attacks. It's unsure if he can summon gaster blasters like his fathers.
- His sockets glow. His eyelights don't.
- He likes to mess with his scarf when he's anxious, flustered, or bored. He may just mess with it, but he also likes to mess with the end of it because it'll swirl and pieces will break off and disappear.
- The error message on his scarf glows
Tidbits about the family:
- Error was the mom
- Star and Error both have taken to calling him "Starshine" and "FiFi". Error sometimes calls him by some flower names (mostly Sunflower) and Star likes to use File's odd fondness of the big dipper as a source for many nicknames. File calls Star 'dad' and Error 'Poppi' (picked up by the sound Error made whenever he felt a strong emotion and would escape. It's like a pop up ad! Though, the poppy flower may have been an influence).
- Star's brother, Comet (also known as Uncle ComCom, as File called him when he was younger), lives with them. Him and Star usually cook. It's gotten much better.
- Error and Star share a room, but not really a bed. Star's bed is big enough for them both, but Error still struggles with his Haphephobia, so he has a little twin somewhat close to it if he needs it.
- The brothers' house was expanded after File was conceived. Building wasn't quite done when he was born, so they stayed with Venus (Alphys, usually called Ven) or Haley (Undyne). The two are File's usual babysitters.
- Blue (Uncle Blue, or swap Sans) is also a common babysitter for File. He's been known to frequently bring him gifts.
- File, Star, Comet, and Error worked together to make a chart on which colors would change into what other colors. While they can't get it exact, they have narrowed it down to a few color changes per original colors. The chart is taken every time they go shopping. Even Comet refuses to go shopping for File that often.
- File is absolutely enthralled with snow and loves visiting other universes that have it. This mirrors Star's excitement over weather and such, so Error likes to take them vacationing as often as possible.
- This specific Outertale has become a bit of a tourist area, so Comet and him, still working under Undyne, focus, instead, on keeping tourists in check, while keeping an eye on their Frisk.
- File can't pick a favorite food. He feels guilty for other foods if he says a specific food, which relieves Star and Error, since they only have to worry about one picky eater (which is Error). Despite this, he absolutely despises ketchup (much to his fathers' horror), brussel sprouts, most yogurt, pork chops, and most chips (the exception being pringles sour cream and onion and the pizza flavor).
- All of them are super proud of the family photo that sits on the coffee table in the living room. It was taken randomly, with no plan, with a mess but it turned out fairly decent. Error in particular is fond of it, and sometimes looks at it and cries.
Notes on this particular Outertale:
- A lot of residents left when universe hopping became more prevalent. Some are actually quite content with the ability to visit Earth whenever they please, so they decided to stay in their home Universe to reap the benefits of so many tourists. Smaller businesses are booming thanks to this.
- Frisk never completed their final run when this happened but has decided to stay with the monsters. They live with Toriel. (both need names)
- Most residents took up nicknames, mostly fitting with their space aesthetic. They figured it was easier than having visitors change their own names, if they hadn't already.
