Great photo. Did the shark even give an indication that it cared you were following it?
Saw a documentary as to what attracts them to humans. They did an experiment where they covered two buckets filled with dead fish; one with black material used for wetsuits and the other with a striped wetsuit material. The black was torn to shreds whereas the striped one was left unharmed. I think we look like seals or certain kinds of fish bobbing or swimming up on the surface in black or plain colors. So a shark sees us from far away and thinks, "Huh? Weird looking seal, but I gotta eat." *bite* and 99% of the time, "Blegh! Human!"

I know we are a world apart but I wanted to thank you for such amazing underwater photos. I love to dive but have been working in Afghanistan for over 13 years and of course there is no where to dive here. Your pictures allow me to get away from here for a brief time and see the world I love to see. Thank you so much
