mine isn't really good either..well,maybe you should try using references?after you'll use them few times(more than few times actually) you may start understanding anatomy better..but everything needs practise I think

Yep, you're right. Practise is what I need, but after a few failed sketches I feel I want to draw something that comes to me easily

This one kinda has a story. The mermaid comes ashore, takes a flower and puts it in her hair. . .but the flower can't survive underwater with her. It's sort of like her yearning to be "part of our world", as it were.

I love how this one is a complete contrast to the golden one. Brilliant.
