One of my favourite RPG's for the Playstation 1. I always thought it was underated - considering its been compared to Final Fantasy 7 numerous times, but I found both games to be veryyyy different from one another. Pictured are Dart, Shana and Rose.Legend of Dragoon/Characters © Sony

I agree COMPLETELY. I have played Legend of Dragon several times. (Like 5 times) I never got a Final Fantasy vibe from it. In fact, they are very very very different. XDDD Legend of Dragoon is my favorite RPG game for PS1. Just everything about it was so well done. Including the music score too. Just outstanding.
With that said, I adore this piece! This artwork is my favorite piece from the game! You captured the characters so well! The shading is so outstanding too! Very great job!

Yea, thats true! I just think of LOD as a completely different game - and I think it deserved a lot more credit than it received. LOD was probably my fav RPG for the PS1, along with Xenogears and Chrono Cross! XD.

YES. I love Chrono Cross! Never beat it though. XD My game had froze on me I think right after I was turned back into human. TT__TT I have to go back and finally beat it again.

Numerous RPGs have been compared to Final Fantasy as if the franchise should be /the/ definition of an RPG. To be honest, I've never really enjoyed Final Fantasy.
The Legend of Dragoon was my first Playstation era RPG. I've replayed it so many times, but you know what else has been compared to Final Fantasy? Xenosaga. I don't get how people think Xenosaga is anything like Final Fantasy. The closest thing I can gather is that movie they made, The Spirits Within. Most people don't even consider that Final Fantasy, and what's more is that Xenosaga is based upon Xenogears. It's a spiritual predecessor, and it came out /long/ before Xenosaga.

Yea, I definitely agree! I think Final Fantasy is so well known because its one of the longest lasting RPG franchises to date - but that doesn't necessarily make it the best. I've played through most of the games, and some of them did not leave as much of a lasting impression as some of the other older RPG's that I've played.
I've never actually played Xenosaga, but I've played Xenogears, and if I had to compare it to the Final Fantasy Series - they're both veryy different from one another (like LOD). Because they have such different plotlines and setup, I couldn't really say which I would prefer
However, if I had to choose my all time fav RPG games, they would have to be: Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Final Fantasy X and Super Mario RPG. Best games everrr! XD

Thanks! Yea, the real name of the game is "The Legend of Dragoon", its an old rpg for the Playstation 1 but its one of the best games I've ever played
