"our beloved princess came back from the forest and was never the same again"As I never really share stories behind my pics let's just leave it with this one sentence here.. (I kinda dislike to write long elaborate stories about a pic showing just a girl in a dress.. go figure. Even if there is, indeed, a bigger story in it)
Anyway, it's my first submission this year (though started in 2007) so belated best wishes!
Except for the story done mostly for lights / materials practice. Photoshop 7, no refs used. Hope you'll like it!

Right before I read your description I saw that her eyes weren't quite right, like as if there was something sinister going on behind them. You outdid yourself with the subtle facial emotion.

Wow, I have to say that first of all, the dress is amazing. The backlighting around her head is also quite awesome, and the fact that those strands of hair are being lit up from behind-- well, its truely fantastic. It sends shivers down my spine.
