Started off as a speedpaint but taking it further. Fixed the bottom a bit, not quite right yet though.Almost there now (ish). Having trouble cleaning the edges up though. If anyone has tips on cleaning it up and making it more realistic please do say

well i may not have much experience, but maybe try to blend in the shadows and lights to make it even smoother and less "blotchy" perhaps thatΒ΄s one way of maing it more "real".
Also, adding more refined details, like you have already started on his right eye, as you probably know, the small small details is what really makes it pop in the end! while adding details like perhaps some skin texture, also donΒ΄t forget the pupils of the eyes. My art teacher said to me once that one should save the most darkest value for the pupils only if you really want to make the eyes stand out like BAM. Not to forget the all important reflection on the eyes themselves, itΒ΄s what gives the character the most "life".

I think you made his face a bit longer. Or his mandibles aren't wide enough. Either way, I can still see the likeness ^_^.
This may not be 100% accurate, but I have to say that I've been watching you for a while now and you really improved. So congratulations

Regarding the face you're probably right, I've noticed I tend to draw faces too long, or the nose to long, more you do paintings like this the more you notice what keeps going wrong. I think before I do anymore work on it I'll just patiently measure everything.
