I recently stumbled across an excellent set of tutorials by EtheringtonBrothers (thank you, Lorenzo!), as well as a series of works by the same artist under the "Stranski" umbrella, both of which were hugely inspirational for this illustration. Admittedly, this type of work is out of my wheelhouse (generally I'm doing image manipulation and graphic design work), but I liked the aforementioned works so well that I wanted to try something in the same vein. The bulk of the work was done in Illustrator, but I finished it in Photoshop.

This is an illustration of Jeana Clay, Melissa Steiner's body double, who I thought was a pretty kick-ass character. It's not meant to be a literal moment in time for the fiction, but rather to illustrate the broad circumstances that she found herself thrust into. Most of the imagery is pretty self-explanatory.

I would like to do more in this vein. Maybe Candace Liao next? Obviously this is fan art, BattleTech and its constituent elements is owned by Topps. I'm throwing this under the creative commons license, but not for commercial sale. That said, if you would like to modify it, have at it.
