I started to read this book little ago, is the best picture you can find in internet about this character, no doubt!

I love his writing, most of his worldbuilding and the first book, but I didn't like the second. So much time and effort was spent on certain scenes (you probably know which ones) and the (probably accidental) misogynist vibes put my shoulders up around my ears.
I don't like the way Kvothe sees women in general, and even less how Adem culture was built, including how outright ignorant their beliefs are. We women spend most of our lives bleeding and in writhing pain for nearly a week every single month. Without contraceptives the cycles are only interrupted by pregnancies, which are no small deal. And a society run by women, where speaking about cycles and women's health was never a taboo hindering the sharing of information, still failed to realize the cycles and sex role in pregnancy? They should be experts! Do they only have heterosexual couples? What about aces? Natural life observation? Basic logic? Anything at all that would clue them on pregnancies?!?! It can't be serious.

a culture of the Adem people should probably have been stagnating over time because they are few from outside who have contact and do not become part of that society, but I understand your point, I can not say that was the best resource to be used to express the idea of "rustic". About how he sees women I hope not only that as the way he thinks as an adult becomes clearer in the course of the third book, sometimes I had the feeling that he was a drone flying through the scenery and getting lost amid so much happening .

beautiful art, he's gorgeous, love his expression, captured his cocky and somber personality.
I visualize him practically like this. In my opinion, it's the more accurate interpretation of him, regarding how he's described on the books.
The way I found this image was similar with the other girl: I was on google, and when I saw the redhead guy I thought "wow he looks like Kvothe" and was delighted when discovered it was actually him.
thank you very much for this piece

When I saw the thumbnail in "more from this artist" I said to myself : Oh ! This looks like Kvothe, I should take a look.
But for it to actually be Kvothe made me laugh a beautiful laugh.
Amazing work you've done with this drawing, it really pictures him, especially his hair.
Splendid.
Interesting coincidence; yesterday I was searching on google for drawings of Dwarf female characters for my D&D campaign, and I found your drawing titled "Dwarf" of the female dwarf from Lineage II. And today, I browse the "Popular 24h" homepage on DeviantArt and your drawing titled "Rooftop" caught my eyes — then, when I saw your name, that's when I realized it was you (I remembered your name very well, since I named the dwarf for my campaign Vielmond — original way of keeping tracks of artist for the credits).
I'll make sure to take a closer look at your gallery, since it seems fate really wants me to looks at your artworks, haha.

Hahaha, cheers! I'm delighted to hear the artwork evoked Kvothe before you knew it was truly him depicted there.
Naming a dwarf "Vielmond" is very fitting in a certain way, given I'm a fully grown 1.59m (5'2") adult. Beware! The least you expect I'll be behind you, looking over under your shoulder.

Uh... painterly?
To be honest I don't try to fit in any style. I do whatever I wish, wherever it takes me. If it's of any help, here are things people called my work: "impressionist", "anime", "speedpaint" (yup...), "korean-like", and "painterly", of course.

When I saw the red hair and the lute I KNEW it was him! I've just found your gallery today and it's trully amazing, I love your style and your use of colors
I'm in my second run with the books, I have difficulties remembering the plot of books and other things -ebem if I study History, ironically- and I want to hav the story fresh in my head when the thirdi is out. I also have a kind of hate-love relation with these books, there are some characters I love (Elodin, for example, don't ask me why) and others I trully hate, like Denna (oh, God, I hate her so much). Overall, the narrative and the story is quite interesting. I think I've never felt bored when reading them

He's just so... And the girl he's interested is so...
Just. No.
Other than that, I stil love what you did here.

I could still bear him. He's an unreliable narrator, and I understood he's a faulty character, more or less clever as he thought of himself, but cocky—that short of youth you might grow fond of but still want to see whacked a couple of times so he grows up a better person. I couldn't stand Denna either. My true issue was with the second book. Ugh. I will still read the third when it comes out, to see if I change my mind. The book has other merits though, like the way it's written (I don't like first person POV and it managed to make me forget it), how can he effectively write emotional stuff and make you empathize with it instead of thinking it's absolutely cheesy, etc.

I guess it's all about the instrument and the wind. His face is not really how I imagined him - I imagined him thiner, a bit boney - but the spirit is clearly here ! Why such a love/hate relation with this book ? It's like one of my favourite ones with (and before) Robin Hobb's and Scott Lynch's.

Well, I can't lay judgement on the entire series, as I've only read The Name of the Wind, Day 1. It was a good enough read, I suppose, but not good enough to where I would run to buy the next book in the series (which is why I only read that first one). Still, upon seeing your piece, my first thought was, Damn, that looks a whole lot like that 'Quothe' guy with the one-string from that series I never finished. Then I saw the title of your piece. You captured Kvothe's essence beautifully.
