Alternate title: "Picture In Itself"

I've seen several Droste Effect/Spiral works here on deviantART. Some of them were apparently created with a GIMP plugin. But all of them appear to have a perfect-logarithmic-spiral boundary between different scales of a perfect-circular-ring-shaped region of the original image. So I've written my own program which uses alpha compositing to allow arbitrary transitions between distinct scales of the source image.

(After poking around the net a bit, I have found other Droste spirals with irregular transitions, but it's apparently not common.)

I'm reminded of a moment from the TV show Friends. Joey and Chandler are watching Beavis & Butthead on TV. Beavis and Butthead are themselves watching TV, just kind of stupidly laughing at it. Joey and Chandler are similarly laughing at Beavis and Butthead on their TV. And we're in our living rooms, absent-mindedly laughing at Joey and Chandler. Makes you wonder, what's on Beavis and Butthead's TV? Maybe they're watching us.
