Amazing! You have so much talent. Did you do art as a kid?

Yeah I drew now and then, and I really enjoyed art classes in school (it was about the only subject I really excelled in haha). Got way more into drawing around 15-16ish, with loads of support from my friends

Wow! Did you do digital or traditional?

Viccolatte In reply to BabyEmber [2014-09-01 09:10:33 +0000 UTC]

I started out just sketching in any sketchbook for about a year, then got into digital when I got a tablet, and since then I've mostly worked in digital

Breathtaking, as with all your work and especially the Wearing the Cape images. Hopefully, I will be be able to persuade you to do some work for my own books some time in the future.

This looks fantastic! Love the vibrancy of the colors
When you paint, do you do everything on one layer?

SeaSpryte-stock [2012-01-10 02:56:40 +0000 UTC]

Love the steps. Thanks for posting them. Did you do this in Photoshop? And what is "Screen Layer" (I'm new to PS, can you tell?).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Viccolatte In reply to SeaSpryte-stock [2012-01-10 03:04:36 +0000 UTC]

Yes, all done in photoshop
Ah, it's easy really. In the layers list in photoshop, you can click on the "blending modes" list and that's where you'll find the Screen, among other option such as Overlay, Color and Multiply. I'm not an expert myself, but I noticed that the Screen blending mode really brightens colors, makes them glowy when putting them carefully on canvas. So it's useful if you want to achieve glow and shine in a painting and get some nice color variation. Try it out!
