A Sea Otter Pokemon, Oshawott is one of the available Starter Pokemon in the Unova Region. Oshawott carries a blade-like seashell on its belly called a "Scalchop," which it uses in both battle and for cracking hard berries. The Scalchop is made from the same material as its claws. Oshawott evolves into Dewott, then Samurott. A long time ago, a researcher in the Hisui region brought Oshawott and two others to aid in their work, and offered them to a trainer who fell from the sky.

Oshawott appears from the Poke Ball in the Super Smash Bros. series, and uses Surf, gliding across the stage and taking whatever opponent caught in the surf off the stage with it.

Oshawott is a Pokemon that Ash caught in the Unova region on his 25-year journey.
