A prototype Minigun Ive cooked up.I think I've messed up the scale a tad, but you should get the general idea.
I was inspired by RPGs, I thought that if heavy weapons fire off the shoulder, why not have a 20MM gatling gun fire off the shoulder. I figure that Accuracy would be increased by the added stability of the shoulder mount and grips. Especially when augmented by a soldier with considerable strength.

not to mention people. It may work better as a stationary point defence weapon, that way you can have huge amounts of ammo pour through it...

Shoulder would die.
Ammo box would get in the way of your arm.
Much too heavy and unnecessary.
Check out metal storm for a better minigun alternative.

lol you do know that miniguns have lighter recoil than most other guns? Now this may just be the one that is used now adays, but still. Miniguns aren't very recoil heavy

Do you know how powerful 20mm rounds are..
They don't even use them in rifles, they're that powerful.
They use them in aircraft and other mounted things.
It would probably just go flying with 5000+ Rounds/m

Quite powerful, They chew through steel. And up till the Germans used Angled plate armor. They were used in the 20mm Lati Anti Tank Gun. Which was a Rifle a Big one but a rifle. No one expects people to hold thiis, Probably used with a Exo Suite to keep it stable, And Hold the ammo. And after Germans got smarter they were used as extreme range Sniper rifles.

actually south africa has a bolt action 20mm sniper rifle, i dont know what they use it for but it is a production weapon

Also, the reason the recoil is so low on most miniguns, is the fact that they don't use the standard chamber, blow back systems normal firearms use

You could always have a 5mm Variant
