I've been making FAR too many Stamps lately and I don't like the notion that it's overtaking my fixation with Pixel Art and Sprites despite lacking drive to make the latter
So I opened up Paint and this was born. Chaos Chao are awesome. Take too much time to get though in SA and SA2
100% from scratch. 19 colours. About 40 minutes.

Very nice sprite!
To me, that yellow on the sphere doesn't look very shaded, but that may be just because it's yellow. I also feel like that sphere should be casting a shadow on the head of the chao.
Actually, I feel that you could have stronger cast shadows all around, but that may be hard due to the size of this piece.
The wings do appear a touch too big but have a very nice coloration to them.
The legs of the chao look a little detached from the body because of the combination of the grey/blue line and the white area just below that line. Lightening the shade of the grey/blue line and making the white area not as large would solve this problem.

The orb above the Chao's head is actually composed of light and as light is an intangible element, this is why I didn't make it cast a shadow on the Chao's head. The things that I believe you are referring to as wings are actually translucent growths on the sides of the Chao's face or are the translucent parts on it's arms that serve as hands (Chaos Chao in the Sonic games don't actually have wings unlike other Chao, just translucent parts on their arms and heads. It makes them look "Special" I suppose, as Chaos Chao are unique and immortal)
I completely agree with the last part, I too feel on second look that the stomach area is detracting from the feet and the feet look odd. I'll see if I can make it look better and not so distracting.
