Description The hands of ~annyo crocheting away, taken sometime late last year I think. Or early this year.
Nikon FM2 + Fujicolor Super HG 1600 ISO (very kindly donated by the snawesome =DalaiHarma ), expired in 1998 (scan from print). Yes, very grainy. But it's film

frozen-peas [2009-03-18 22:04:25 +0000 UTC]

the lovely dots of colour in the blacks and grey's, with the warm grain remind me of post impressionism/pointillism. especially on the left hand.

VeraAda In reply to frozen-peas [2009-03-19 14:21:58 +0000 UTC]

You always see things I don't in my pictures - it's really cool to have that different point of view. I never would have picked post impressionism/pointillism in this, probably because I only see this from the point of view of just photography.
So thank you!

i love film grain! digital noise is yuck, but film grain is yum

VeraAda In reply to Vickstar [2009-03-19 12:45:22 +0000 UTC]

I can't say I loooove film grain, but I definitely prefer it to noise!
Film grain is growing on me though

Vickstar In reply to VeraAda [2009-03-19 14:21:16 +0000 UTC]

well, i wouldn't want all photos to be grainy, there's a time and a place for grain. but yes, it's so much nicer than digital noise.

VeraAda In reply to Vickstar [2009-03-19 14:35:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, exactly
Also, I'm a fan of 100/125 ISO films and such... I've even got a b&w roll of 25 ISO that I'm saving for a nice portrait shoot. So yeah, I'm not too used to film grain, but as I said before, I'm starting to like it more, and particularly in b&w film

Vickstar In reply to VeraAda [2009-03-19 14:45:11 +0000 UTC]

blimey! 25 iso?! now that's low. i tend to shoot 35mm at about 200 for colour or 400 for b/w.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

VeraAda In reply to Vickstar [2009-03-19 15:43:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know! It also expired about 14 years ago. It's called Agfapan APX 25 - =DalaiHarma donated it to me (along with a whole bunch of other films to test out). I tend to shoot b&w at 100, 125 or 200, occasionally 400. Colour so far I've shot at 100, 160, 200, 400, and most recently 1600 - but I'm not too picky with colour films (yet). I'm actually pretty keen to experiment with different ISO in colour, probably because you really see the differences with colour film (and not just in grain), much more than in b&w.

Vickstar In reply to VeraAda [2009-03-19 15:59:59 +0000 UTC]

well, if you ever get round to shooting that 25 iso i'll keep an eye out if you upload any!
