2020 and COVID-19 brought something positive into my life... It got me back into traditional art. I was always afraid of using markers...mostly because I had bought a set of COPICS way back in the day and didn't like the art I did with them. I decided to give it another go this time with Ohuhu markers.
Its not perfect, but I am still learning how to blend...and gosh darn it... I really, really like using markers. Maybe I should watch a tutorial... but I kinda of want to continue experimenting on my own until I find a technique I'm really good at.
What's frustrating about this, is that I originally wanted to add it to my sketchbook.. but the sketch I did on the scrap piece of paper I had turned out so good...I kept it and did the whole drawing with it.
I have a weakness for characters that have eyepatches... so of course, I love Kaeya's design from the game Genshin Impact. On thing though, I wasn't going to draw him with the clothes he has on in the game.... Waaaay to complicated.
I tried so many times to blend the skin color on his face and the purple in the background...I kind of regret adding the purple at the very last minute, but its better than a white background, feels less empty.
That being said, I really love this, because I drew a hand that doesn't look like total crap.... Thinking I might frame this one. Who knows.
