Walk, walk andwalk until I
find myself on the
rough ground, hands
dirty and filled with
blisters
as my ankles ache from
the tightness of my
sneakers from the
double knot
of the shoelace. Tell my
feet,
tell my
abnormal
heart to stop pushing
through and let go,
to be free from these
imaginary
chains locking my
body to
move, to
groove, to
let loose, and to
refuse
isolation.
Walk, walk then
let me stumble,
let me feel the fresh
blood
coming from these
wounds on my
knees,
from the tender
soles
of my feet,
just to remind
me
the pain of having
illusions of
failure,
to remind
me
that these wounds
will simply fade
into beautiful
scars,
and to remind
me
how pain will
always be a temporary
demon
lingering for a
quick
moment.
