This image is a bit theoretical of Vaati from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. If you haven't played the game, don't read the rest of this description, as it will contain spoilers.

I just have to wonder... Vaati. Did you ever think about what you were doing? Did you ever stop and ponder all that you had done, and was it truly worth it? You severed all ties with the people that actually cared about you - you hurt them and even mocked them. For what? Power? Strength? Recognition?

Was your wish worth it? Was stealing the Minish cap worth everything you'd caused? Was betraying your mentor - who had to have cared about you, surely - really all that wise, in the end?

Be careful what you wish for.

I just have to wonder if he ever stopped to think about these things. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't actually care, and just decided to do whatever he pleased.

So, the word magician can be used to refer to a magic-wielding person, and we all know Vaati proclaims himself to be a wind mage / sorcerer. I personally sort of associate the Song of Storms with him, thus the rain - and said rain adds to the overall mood of this piece, as well.

Also - the significance of him holding his hat is because it is, of course, the Minish cap (some people say Magic Hat - call it what you will) - the wish granting hat that allowed him to become a "magician" in the first place.
