I made it by getting a bunch of reference images of mushrooms from here , photoshopping them all together and sticking a grid over it. Then i drew it on paper and added the big old pumpkin face.
That's when I discovered my scanner is broken so I took a photo of the drawing, stuck it in Inkscape and converted it to line-art.

This is actually the first time I've used Inkscape but I like it quite a lot.
