Description Idea for the sketch has been with me for awhile... it came to me after listening to the song "Osaka Loop Line" by Discovery. Which is an AWESOME song btw, look it up Anyway... it was just a lil ink drawing in my sketch book... decided to scan and colour it for kicks. Enjoy

i just love your sketching style. it's not refined to the point of it looking so photographic and still delivers the picture. so pretty.
i don't really get the mood from the song tho :/

Great - perfect ! It captures that JR/Osaka feel. I write and have just finished a short story set in Osaka (3000 words). I've been told it would lend itself to a Manga interpretation but at this stage I was looking for a couple of key sketches to accompany the text as an epub doc. I was after a sketch in Kinokuniya buying Kansai Time Out, a vending machine outside the big man screen, walking out of a building and into a Shinsaibashi street scene and a scene in a police cell at Sonezaki police station in Umeda. I love your style. It's what I had in mind at the time of writing. I am not famous and I haven't published on any well known forums but I think this could work well. Let me know if interested. If not, well.... keep up the good work, I think you're great!

Genius!!! I really like it. I wanted to draw a picture to this (very cool ) song, too, I had exactly the same idea as you, but then I messed it up with some black colour and I had to start all over again, so Iยดm doing something completly different now... And I guess you did better on the perspective and the station then I would

Seems like your stuff has been looking a lot more brushy since the golf ads you did for me. Do you think so?

Yeah, ya know, it kinda has been going more that way... probably mostly cause its easier though! I'm SOOOOOO lazy now!

The girl looks lovely, but the attention given to the background is what helps this scene stand out for me - it enhances the portrait with a little suggestion of a narrative as well. It lets you dwell on it that much longer.

Is she drinkin' Sweat?

Love the style you've used for it, sketchy cool and quite dynamic and energetic in itself.

How come my ink sketches never look that neat...

Loved the song too by the way *goes to look up more of their stuff.

YESS! You got it... I drank SOOOOO much pocari sweat when I was in japan... mmm, good stuff!

In fairness, I cheated. Its not a true ink sketch cause I did a pencil underlay first... so its really an inked pencil drawing. However, instead of trying to make the inks clean, I opted for a more dynamic... and, hell, easier sketchy ink technique!

Yeah, discovery is AWESOME. I've listened to their LP countless times, so I'm glad you enjoyed it as well... always happy to share my musical finds

This sketchy style reall suits this piece - it shows the business and movement found in a train station at Osaka. Really beautiful piece

I love this art-style where someone can see the "lines". It gives such an interesting effect.
