Description FS 5 of 10 (OMG I'M HALF WAY!)

For

Honuea asked me to draw a chibi version of a girl. He gave me some ref pics to work from, and what you see above is the end result. Admittedly I'm not too confident in my chibi work... I have a hard time simplifying the character down to the right level... oh well, I gave it my all! I'm fairly happy with it, and I hope Hanuea is too

Thanks! Yeah, I just couldn't simplify it down right... its kinda more a regular anime person with slightly odd proportions than a true chibi

Zaaah!! that's so cute!! Drawing chibi characters is a pain, yes, I myself can't do it. you have to adjust the proportions to the border of the acceptable (or else it becomes a SD) . So I just say, GOOD JOB!

Hey, what does SD stand for? I've heard that term used a number of times for chibi-esk characters, but I never really understood the difference between the two.

SD is a kind of "deformed" chibi. 's dfrawings, for example, are mostly SDs: big-headed, big-eyed, and with a much too small body. Chibi are more of a "childish" form, while SD are super-deformed normal forms ^^

I like it. Drawing chibi characters is hard. I could definately tell it was a chibi when I first saw it because of her disproportioned body and that's not what I'm used to seeing from your art. You certainly made your own style of chibi and that's why I like it.

Thanks! Heh, that's why I call these "sketches" I do full detail line work with just simplified shading... it does really make em a lot easier to make though

LOL, part of that is because I did actually have reference photos for the girl... so while the figure is pretty much made up, the hair is based of of those pictures of an actual girl. Hence why it looks human
