I went with 3 of my good friends from my anime group & we went up to a gothic industrial club in LA and danced the night away.
I got hit on by Two face (harvey dent) and ho boy.. was he ever fine... he blew smoke in my face.. just totally in character. It was awesome!! Just basically the best halloween ever.

I really like how the warm lighting from the lantern contrasts agains the generally cold/gloomy/spooky background. It's like this little puddle of warm cute.

Yeah, I normally either warm or cool the whole image as part of the post production... but this is one of the few times I did both effects, one to the foreground, and the other to the BG. I'm glad you dug the result. Heh, and I enjoyed your descriptor of a "puddle of warm cute"

Heh, sounds like we go through a similar post-prod then. I normally fiddle the levels as well, just to bring the pic up a bit. Have a horrible habit of drawing just a little too washed out.

Ah, I just got locked out of my apartment and had to walk through a bad neighborhood at night to get back to the house where I had left to get my keys. Heh, and all of this walking was done in japanese pajamas, eye linear, and sandals that were falling apart... at least it wasn't raining at that particular time!

Geez, I wish we had this Halloween tradition over here. Or at least the Latin "DΓa de los Muertos", that Mexico and Andin countries celebrate (I hope my mom is having fun, she's in Colombia now XD). We have weak Halloween parties and the nacionalists say we must not celebrate it because it's not ours. Fair enough. But they don't move an inch to make our own folklore alive, either.
I don't think I'm doing a Halloween picture, either. =/

Ah Halloween can be a fun night... but it is really best while one is still a child and can go trick or treating (dressing up and getting free candy is just awesome!)
However, It seems like once people get up to the college age and beyond, the holiday just becomes an excuse to dress provocatively and drink excessively! 
Out of curiosity, what major holidays are unique to brazilian culture/heritage that you celebrate?

Sometimes I wish I had been to Toronto at this time of the year, so I could trick or treat for the first time in my life. Never mind. Whenever I go no North America again, I'll do it. 
I guess so. When people "grow up" (really, it doesn't sound very grown to me) they just want to drink and have sex in their free time. Only. As if it always guaranteed fun.
Hm, let's see. Corpus Christi is celebrated (may 22), and so is the day of the patron saint of Brazil (which coincidently matches with Children's Day - October 12). There's the Independency Day (september 7) and the Proclamation of Republic (November 15).
We have Tiradentes, a homage to a man who has become a martir fighting for indenpency (and the government wanted to show people we had heroes, yes, and made a holiday out of the day of his death XD - april 21)
These are the national ones. But each state has its own History and folklore. So in ParΓ‘, a state on the North, we have CΓrio de NazarΓ© ([link] ); in Amazonas (North, too) there's the Fight of the Ox - Boi-bumbΓ‘ - ([link] ); in Santa Catarina (South) there's Oktoberfest (just like in Germany). Here in Bahia we have Festa Junina ([link] ) - and the tradition is so strong that the winter holidays, typically in July, are in June here in Bahia - and Carnival, that, even if it's celebrated all over the country, here's the only place where it lasts a whole week 8D ([link] - such a poor article... it doesn't even mention Ivete Sangalo! Daniela Mercury is not as famous as her! -_- )
Gah, sorry for the long post. But I'm learning too, 'cause Brazil is very rich in this cultural way.

Wow, Brazil knows how to have a proper holiday! The Fight of the Ox sounds particularly incredible... the idea of a small town doubling in population for a giant theatrical competition sounds wild... plus the associated feasting/partying would be great fun too

I wnat to see the Fight of the Ox too... you see, the whole town is painted in red or blue. It's a very tight dispute, in which all city takes place. Just fantastic.

It's so cute! The lighting from the pumpkin is pretty cool and you did a good job. Nice touches on her outfit, I like the skull ribbon and her hair ribbons. And that little bunny is just adorable.

I actually have never really gone to a con or sold very much of my artwork. There have been a few rogue online and professional commissions... like the old Master Chief pic I did for a video game shop or a car image I did for a person on VWvortex (not posted in my gallery). But thats it! Maybe I should try that some day though...

It's always a big decision on whether or not to sell your work, and I understand that it could potentially be a very difficult decision, so I will leave these matters up to you.
Although even if you don't sell your art at cons you should come to some, just to see what it's like. I haven't been to a major one yet, but I plan on going sometime in the future.
