AdBlock Plus is an add-on for Mozilla Firefox. (I think you can also get it for Google Chrome.) What it basically is is a "black list" of ad developers based on a script that it runs. It essentially recognizes something as an ad and simply blocks it. It's simply not there on the page anymore. You know those annoying little banners that pop up at the bottom of YouTube videos and the commercials that you have to watch before them? Gone.
Even deviantArt's ads go away from what I understand (I'm a premium member so I don't see ads anyway). Since both Firefox and AdBlock are 100% free, it's worth your time to look into them, I'd say.

What kind of stuff does Chrome have over Firefox?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
sergbel In reply to Captain-Varro [2010-08-16 07:28:57 +0000 UTC]
well it loads faster, it has great interface, it wins in performances, it uses threads for each tab & for each window (so when FF crushes all tabs must be closed, with chrome only the tab where the problem occur).
However I love firefox and i use it a lot especially for web-development. But just for browsing i use chrome and i love it more and more.

perhaps, but mozilla had the tab system, as well as many other features that IE implemented, including private browsing and others like that.
